THE HOUSE WE GREW UP IN
 Audio-visual installation, 2017

The House We Grew Up In is an elegiac piece that consists of photographs and spoken text presented through an old slide projector.

The work reflects on intimate childhood memories of Skopje‘s prefabricated architecture, as well as the changing face of the city as the prefabs make way for re-development.

The House We Grew Up In is the first of its kind to look into Skopje’s disappearing prefabricated homes, raising questions about their status and importance and more broadly the way that Skopje deals with its post-earthquake architectural heritage.

The piece won the 2017 Werkstipendium by the City of Zurich and the 2018 DENES Young Visual Artist Award in Skopje.
