The House We Grew Up In reflects on intimate childhood memories of Skopje’s prefabricated architecture, as well as the evolving face of the city as these prefabs give way to redevelopment. 

This work is the first of its kind to examine Skopje’s disappearing homes, raising questions about their status and importance, and the broader approach the city takes towards its post-earthquake architectural heritage. It is presented using analogue technology, which further questions the loss of artefacts in the age of modern technology.

The House We Grew Up In received the city of Zurich Werkstipendium in 2017 and the DENES Young Visual Artist Award in 2018.
