Verica Kovacevska is an artist and researcher based in Zurich who explores themes of urban design, architectural heritage, and immersive technology in her work. Most of her projects are participatory and performative, allowing the audience to experience the built and urban environment in new ways.
Her work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions and festivals, including BANG BANG, Museum Tinguely (Basel); Frankfurter Buchmesse (Frankfurt); Perceptions Engendered, Museum of Contemporary Art (Skopje); Manifesta 11 (Zurich); Other Possible Worlds, Casino Luxembourg (Luxembourg); Re.act.feminism; Museum of Contemporary Art (Roskilde); 4th Moscow Biennale (Moscow); Belgrade: Nonplaces, Museum of Contemporary Art (Belgrade); Video.it, Fondazione Merz (Turin). Among her solo exhibitions were Two and a Half Rooms, National Gallery of Macedonia (Skopje) and Everyday Art, Art of the Everyday, Museum of Contemporary Art (Skopje).
Kovacevska holds a BA in Visual Arts with Theatre and Performance from the University of Plymouth (UK) and an MPhil in Arts, Culture and Education from the University of Cambridge (UK). She is the recipient of numerous awards, grants and residencies, and since 2023 is a PhD candidate at the HafenCity University Hamburg (DE).
