M11 POP UP

Performance, 30', 2016

Verica Kovacevska and architect Carola Daldoss set up a pop up shop in the Cabaret Voltaire.

The shop sold eleven unique design items that were functional, used in everyday life, and that related to both professions.

The pop up also connected both artist and architect with their audience / customers / colleagues, and provided a shopping experience that was part theatre and part retail. The sale of the items covered the production costs of the work.

M11 Pop Up was part of Manifesta 11, joining artists with non-artists around the theme of work or “What people do for money?”.

The piece took place in the Cabaret Voltaire, which was transformed into a temporary guildhall for artists during Manifesta.
