Filling the Void is an audio guide developed after a research residency at [PROSTOR] in March 2022.

 

The work centres on the beloved modernist community-building Kineski Zid, where [PROSTOR] is located, as well as on the surrounding structures designed by the same architect, Frano Gotovac. It provides information about the buildings and invites the audience to explore, imagine, and embody the space.

 

Filling the Void is accessible to anyone using a mobile device. It adds a new landmark to the tourist map of Split and is part of the permanent collection of [PROSTOR], enabling a diverse audience to engage with it beyond the typical short-term exhibition.

 

The piece is documented through video, further exploring the role of film in site-specific art and how documentation can itself become (part of) the original artwork.
