THE LAST FLIGHT

Video 3' 13" / Wall drawings, 2020

In 2019 the artist occupied a temporary studio in a 100-year-old villa in Zurich that was soon to be demolished.

The villa had an overgrown garden that was inhabited by many birds.

One day, due to the upcoming construction, all the tress were cut from the garden thereby destroying the birds' home. The artist filmed the result of this with a drone.

She also extracted an element from within the house that had a relationship to the natural environment - an indienne wallpaper - going through the entire residence.

The resulting artwork - wall drawings depicting the wallpaper and video from garden - not only create a dialogue between the inside and outside space, but also highlight an important aspect of urban development and its consequences on our eco system.
