The Circle is a series of public actions carried out in three different cities (Exeter, London, Edinburgh), and three different locations within each of those cities, in the UK.

By repeatedly drawing and standing in a circle in different locations, the artist marked and defined the size of her own personal space, challenging others to step in or to stay away. At the same time, she separated herself from the environment, other people, society and its institutions, existing in a different time and place.

The piece explored basic human notions of (self-)alienation, isolation, and integration.
