Foodforcing (2003), video performance (1min 2sec)
Exeter, United Kingdom

In Foodforcing, the continuous action of a man force feeding phallic-shaped foods to a woman is shown in order to symbolise the act of power, dominance, submission, and the traditional role of men and women in society.

Although much of the piece refers to the way men dominate women (in a sexual and/or intellectual manner) the underlying question is whether women enjoy the lack of control and complete surrender - and if not, why they allow it.

Foodforcing is part of the Forced Actions series of video performances.
