Come Inside (2001), installation
Come Inside was a large-scale installation featuring a room with flesh-like painted walls and a suspended sculpture in the middle that resembled a large human brain. The atmosphere created gave an impression of entering inside a human head.
The sculpture included a small hole on the bottom through which visitors were able to peak inside and, with the help of a flashlight, discover various disconcerting images suggesting violent, sexual, discriminatory, and obsessive thoughts.
In doing so, Come Inside allowed visitors to become voyeurs and confront not only someone else’s dark and secretive thoughts, but also their own.
